Its been awhile since the blog is updated. Is everyone still good?
To everyone who did not recieve the emails we sent out, here are some of the upcoming events in the year 2010:

(1) School Awards Nite : 9th April 2010, 6 - 9 pm
(2) School Cross Country : 23rd April 2010, 7.30am - 12 noon
(3) National Day Celebration : 6th Aug 2010, morning
(4) Teachers' Day Celebration & Sports Fiesa : 27th Aug 2010
(5) Prom Nite : 19th Nov 2010 (tentative)

Further details would be released via emails.

Happy New Year!!!

How time flies! We've already entered into 2009. This year, there will be a series of activities happening in Unity Secondary School, and alumni members are strongly encouraged to participate in them (:

Sports Fiesta - 8th Aug 2009
ACES Day/Teachers' Day Celebrations - 31st Aug 2009

For now, let's welcome the graduating batch of 2008 as well as all new alumni members into the alumni!

Teachers Day 2008

Finally an update of what happened on Teacher's Day Celebrations!
Many students and Alumnus put in their efforts to prepare the present for the teachers.
This is what they've made!

It's a card with some quotes, and a wooden peg, and a glass marble.
This was put in the pigeon holes in the General Office the day before the celebrations, to give the teachers a surprise the next day they visit the pigeon hole.

Similarly to last year's celebrations, Swee Sin went up to stage on behalf of the Alumni for the "cake-cutting-ceremony".

Teachers' Day Celebration 2007

This year's Teachers' day was different from the previous year's as this was the first time that the alumni had prepared gifts for all the teachers and admin staff in Unity to thank them for all the things they have done for Unity. The gift was a metal hand-shaped bookmark with a note at the top :) Besides giving the bookmarks that is personalised for each teacher and staff, we also had a big teachers' day card that holds all the thank you messages from our alumni members.

The teachers and staff loved the gifts and this made it so much more meaningful to the alumni as we can never forget the care and love that our teachers showered on us when we were in Unity. We hope that we can do more for the next teachers' day, so if you have any suggestions on how we can celebrate teachers' day with Unity, please do tell us! :)

Alumni T shirt + Alumni Pass Collection Day

Lunch Time Busking in Unity

Coming back for Teachers' Day Celebration

If you are intending to return to Unity on Teachers' Day to visit your teachers, please take note that by 11 30am most of the teachers will not be in school. They will be going for their Teachers' Day lunch. So, try to come back before 11 30 am. Thank you =)

National Day Celebrations

Hey everyone, during this upcoming National Day celebration in Unity, there will be friendly games that is going to be played.
The alumni team is looking forward to your participation in this event.

The details are as follows:
Date: 8th August 2007, Wednesday
Time: 0930 - 1030hrs
Sports: Soccer, Captain's Ball, Basketball and Floorball

Please state which sport you are interested in or form your own team with your fellow alumni members in your reply.

Final result for the Unity Alumni Network Logo

We are happy to announce that the final logo for the Alumni is Logo no.1. This will be our logo from now on =) It will be on our alumni T shirt and any other alumni related objects and documents.

Please vote for your favourite logo using the Polling box on the right sidebar (under "My favourite logo is...") =) The top 3 voted logos will be submitted to the school admin. The school admin will then decide, out of the 3 logos, which will be the official one for the Unity Alumni Network :) Happy voting!

Explanation

- This is a set of stars known as the little dipper. Polaris one of the stars in this constellation.
- Polaris is special as it always stay stationary while other stars revolve around it
- Over the time, many people have used this star as a guide for direction while traveling
- This is like the Alumni that will always be there for the school

Explanation

The Yellow part symbolizes the rising sun- shows our enthusiasm for the school and our undying energy in participation
The black portion is the school’s outline- meaning that we will always be behind the school to support it

Alumni Meeting 070707 was a success! Thanks to all who came and do look forward to more gatherings, as for those who couldn't make it this time, don't worry! We'll most certainly have more gatherings!
